No one ever likes paladins!
I've organised my work schedule so I can spend a bit more time at home and have my days away in one lump so I'm not spending forever sat on the train. So now I will have a bit more time at home, I've decided to put that extra time to good use by spending time playing online games. Well ... MMORPGs.
I haven't really spent much time gaming online. The only games I have put effort into are Guild Wars and Final Fantasy XI
. But I've seen there's a few more contenders for best MMORPG so I'm trying to decide which one to play.
Personally I found Guild Wars a great game to play and played the original game and the first 2 expansions. The fact it doesn't have any subscription fees is great and the graphics are awesome. As for Final Fantasy XI
, I liked the game but thought that the quests were few and far between. Most of the game seemed to be pointless levelling up. I guess if I wasn't such a big FF fan I would have found this a better game, because this really wasn't an FF game. But still, the game play was very good and the subscription fee was quite low.
My question and reason for this blog is .. do I stick with what I know and keep on with Guild Wars or do I give one of the other MMORPGs a try?
I looked at World of Warcraft this morning. I tried the 10 day free trial, which meant I had to have Mr T's mowhawk thing as my character's head hehe. The graphics are a lot more cartoony than Guild Wars
and although I only played for a short time, the game play was fun and very similar to what I've used before. Although one thing I didn't like was you can't left click and have your character move to it. If I'm wrong about that and just need to change the settings can someone correct me please? :-)
The other contender for best MMORPG seems to be Everquest II . I haven't played this game at all. From what I've seen of the screen shots and stuff, the grpahics look really cool but I don't know anything about the gameplay. I would assume its fairly similar to the others?
One thing I did notice ... the armour and characters are a LOT sexier in Guild Wars than the other games:

So guys (and girl-gamers too), give me some input please. Stick with what I know or move onto one of the others? Email is on the side bar. And for the record, Necromancers are fucking sexy!!

The graphics are not the best and can sometime feel a bit cartoony but the gameplay can be varied with PVP, Instances to go along with Questing.
You're correct - WoW you can only control your char with the keyboard, no click-to-move.
